Protective and Stalking Petitions may be filed from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday - Friday (except observed Holidays) in the Office of Clerk of Superior Court.  Petitions must be completed and notarized prior to filing.  Petitions filed between 8:30 am and 10:30 am will be heard at 11:00 am by the ex parte Judge.  Petitions filed between 10:30 am and 2:30 pm will be heard at 3:00 pm by the ex parte Judge.  Petitions filed after 2:30 pm will be heard the following day. You must arrive at the Clerk’s Office fifteen minutes prior to the hearing with the completed and notarized forms.  It is the responsibility of the Petitioner to ensure their own safety during this period.  There are many resources available and the Clerk's Office can assist with providing the contact information for these services.  Blank Petitions are available in the Clerk's Office or on this website under Protective Forms.  The Petitioner must provide an address of the Respondent at the time of filing for service of the Order on the Respondent.
